Mary Louise Pikunas, 95, of Claysville, died on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
She was born on September 8, 1917, in Sturgeon, Washington County, a daughter of the late John and Kathryn Renduch Malski.
A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Prior to her marriage, she had worked as a private duty housekeeper and at Continental Can Company.
Mrs. Pikunas was a tremendous cook and very accomplished seamstress. Her life revolved around her family and spending time with them.
On November 24, 1943, she married Joseph John Pikunas, who died on July 6, 1979.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Patricia L. (Michael) Economakos, of Billerica, MA; and Dolores (Bill) Solominsky, of Claysville; a sister, Helen Supinski, of Canonsburg; 4 grandchildren, Joseph and William Solominsky; and Christopher and Stephen Economakos; 1 great grandchild, Jonathan Solominsky, and one step great grandchild, Eliza Boice.
Deceased are her stepfather, Stephen Stasiowski; 2 brothers, Walter and Fred Stasiowski; and 3 sisters, Genevieve Martin, Caroline Reichert and Isabelle Morgan.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow in St. James Mausoleum, Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
