Rose Larkin

Rose Larkin, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born October 23, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Bernard and Sally DeSimone Desmond. Mrs. Larkin attended Trinity High School and worked at Kress Box. She was a member of Washington Alliance Church. Mrs. Larkin enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. On March 29, 1952, she married Robert Wayne Larkin, who died August 18, 2011. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra S. (Dominic) Talotta of Scott Township; two brothers, Louis Desmond of New Hampshire and Bernard Desmond of Washington; a sister, Catherine Desmond of Washington; three grandchildren, Matthew (Kara) Talotta, Ryan (Sara) Talotta and Michael (Nikki) Talotta. Deceased are four sisters, Mary Cweirz, Sally Desmond, Margaret Desmond and Angeline Desmond; and a brother, Guy Desmond. Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 4th, with Pastor James Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 69 West Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301.
