Marjorie Barnhart Kissell

Marjorie Barnhart Kissell, 88, of Washington, died Friday, January 11, 2013, in Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born February 6, 1924, in Graysville, Greene County, a daughter of William W. and Lillian Annette Smith Barnhart. Mrs. Kissell graduated from Richhill Township High School and worked at Tygart Valley Glass when younger. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and spending time with her granddaughter. Mrs. Kissell was a member of St. Hilary Church. On July 25, 1953, she married George J. Kissell, who died October 9, 1999. Surviving are a son, George M. Kissell (Kathleen) of Washington; a granddaughter, Summer Sonson (Joe); two step-grandsons, Brandon Williams and Joshua Williams (Christina); and a great-grandson, Emmett Williams. Deceased are four brothers, Charles, Shirl, Richard, and Jack Barnhart; and three sisters, Ruth Owen, Betty Nelson and Vivian Miller. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 16th, in St. Hilary Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
