Olive Galentine Federoff, 94, of Washington, died January 16, 2013, at Evergreen Personal Care, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughters, the staff, and the hospice team.
She was born August 11, 1918, in West Finley, a daughter of Dae and Nellie (Clovis) Galentine. She is survived by her three daughters, Ella Coen of McMurray, Martha (Roger) Riggs and Alberta Hancher, both of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Pam Ackerman, Roger Riggs, Jr., Becky Wilks, Billie Sue Sayres, Julie Ann Miller, Jeff Coen, Mary Beth Miesemer, Rodney Miller, Dennis Riggs, Darren Riggs, and David Riggs; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, George (Teresa) Galentine of Seal Beach, California, Bob Galentine of Elm Grove, West Virginia, Jerry (Ray) Henry of Warren, Ohio, Mary Lou Galentine and Jean Guess, both of Washington, and Donna Mellon of Apache Junction, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Federoff, who died in 1981; a brother, Harold Galentine; a son-in-law, Bill Coen; a granddaughter, Tina Loughman; and a great-granddaughter.
Olive retired from Western Center, where she had worked as an aid. She was known as an excellent seamstress, and she loved puzzles and playing Scrabble. Most of all, she loved her cherished daughters and grandchildren, who called her Nanny. Olive had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19th, with Pastor Michael Singo officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Hospice, Six Parkway Center, 875 Greentree Road, Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15220; or to Living Waters Church of God, 965 Weirich Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
