Vera Jean Isabel Ferralli Piacenza, 97, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in her home.
She was born October 26, 1915, in Bruceton, a daughter of John and Mary Chiarelli Ferralli.
Mrs. Piacenza was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, in Washington, and a former member of St. Hilary Church. She was a 1934 graduate of Trinity High School and was formerly employed in the dietary department at the Washington Hospital.
On November 16, 1946, she married Bartolemo Piacenza, a veteran of World War II, with the Army Corps, who passed away on November 6, 1979.
As a loving and caring lady, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Surviving are her son, Barry John Piacenza, of Washington, a sister, Jennie Marie Ferralli, also of Washington, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband, are four brothers, Albert, John, Joseph, and Dominic Ferralli; three sisters, Rose F. Rugierio, Angeline F. Costello, and Helen F. Bellotti.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A public mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
