Kandace Renea Darnley, 26, of Washington, died unexpectedly, February 3, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
She was born October 21, 1986, in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of Frederick Henry Darnley, Jr., and Jody Lynn Bryner Darnley, of Washington.
Ms. Darnley attended Wolfdale and Trinity North Elementary Schools, where she was a cheerleader. In high school, she took EMT training at Vo-Tech, and graduated from McGuffey in 2005.
For the past 1 and a half years, she worked as a pharmacy technician at the Rite Aid on Chestnut Street. Previously, she worked at Town and Country Market in Wolfdale for three years and at 84 Lumber in data entry for 2 years.
Ms. Darnley enjoyed the outdoors and outdoor activities, especially fishing, hunting, camping, and bonfires with family and friends.
Since her teenage years, she was a strong supporter of Relay for Life and walked every year for those with cancer. A cancer survivor herself, she was treated for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma from 2009-2010.
She was Christian.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her fiancé, Jeffrey Scott; a brother, Robbie Darnley of Washington; maternal grandmother, Donna Mae Bryner of Washington; paternal grandmother, Peg (Bob) Teegarden of Washington; an uncle, Jimmy "Jimbo" Bryner; aunts, Lucy Welling and Nikki Strong; many cousins, including Wayne, Tiffanie, Amanda, Faith, Sierra, Lexi and Hunter.
Deceased are her paternal grandfather, Frederick H. Darnley, Sr; and maternal grandfather, James "Pegleg" Bryner.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 8th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
