John Frederick Scholz, 81, of Washington, died February 18, 2013, in Canonsburg Hospital. He had been in declining health.
He was born December 2, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a son of John J. and Magdalene Scholz.
Mr. Scholz was a veteran of the Marine Corps. For 33 years, he worked as an airline mechanic for Eastern Airlines.
Mr. Scholz was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed model airplanes.
On November 12, 1955, she married Mary Helen Glad, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Joseph (Tina) Scholz of Washington and Daniel James (Kathy) Scholz of Shelton, Connecticut; a sister, Mary (Dick) Schmidt of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Jacob and Emily Scholz.
Deceased are a brother, Tony, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Josephine.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, February 22nd, in Immaculate Conception Church, with Father William Feeney as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
