Edward C. Hutter, Sr., 88, of Washington, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2013, in his residence.
He was born April 22, 1924, in Washington, a son of the late John Harrison Hutter and Mary Margaret Woods-Hutter.
Mr. Hutter was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship in Washington.
A World War II veteran, he served in the 101st U.S. Airborne Division and fought in the Battle of Normandy.
Mr. Hutter worked at Pennsylvania Transformer for 20 years and for Washington County for 8 years.
On June 7, 1954, he married the love of his life, Ethel Marie Klein, who survives.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are five children, Roy Hutter of Ohio, Joyce (Dennis) Holman of Washington, Edward (Joyce) Hutter, Jr., of Pittsburgh, Patsy (Anthony) Forman of Washington and Robyn (John) Dodworth of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Lesley Howard and Scott Hutter of Ohio, Tiffany (Matthew) Ewig and T. J. Petrola of Washington, John Dodworth, Jr., of Canonsburg and Denylle Baller and Kristina Holman of Wheeling; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Howard and Jake Howard of Ohio, Alexis Ewig, Blake Ewig and Grady Ewig of Washington, and Evan Baller and Josie Dunaway of Wheeling; one great-great grandchild, Lilliana Howard of Ohio; a sister, Agnes Kissner of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the last male sibling of his family of 13 children.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Thursday, February 21st, from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Private burial will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
