Ilene E. Hartley

Ilene E. Chambers Jochynek Hartley, 87, of Washington, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in her residence. She was born August 18, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of Francis D. and Leona Camp Chambers. Mrs. Hartley was a member of West Washington United Methodist for over 50 years and the past president of its Bertha Stimmel Circle. She was a homemaker as well as an artist. She enjoyed painting with oil and acrylic paints and taught painting at the Senior Citizens’ Center. Mrs. Hartley also built dollhouses and mini trains for many years. On May 24, 1957, she married Willard W. Hartley, who died October 3, 2009. Surviving are a son, David P. (Beverly) Jochynek of Claysville; three daughters, Judith E. LeMaster of Joffre, Barbara (James) Richardson of Washington, and Mary Ellen “Missy” (Gary) Six of Claysville; a step-son, Willard “Lock” Hartley II of Washington; a step daughter, Connie (Jerry) Vonscio of Washington; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Deceased are her first husband, Joseph P. Jochynek; an infant son, Robert Lee Jochynek; two grandchildren, Mary E. Baumgardner and Becky Richardson; two great-grandchildren, Dougie Baumgardner and Kelsie Ilene Hritz; two brothers, Frank and Art Chambers; and two sisters, Bonnie Dolan and Catherine Voytek. Arrangements were private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Bertha Stimmel Circle, West Washington Methodist Church, 625 Fayette Street, Washington, PA 15301.
