Robert Leroy Yater

Robert Leroy Yater, 68, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in his residence. He had been in declining health. He was born December 12, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Clyde Yater, Sr. and Laura Zediker Yater. Mr. Yater attended Trinity High School and worked as a driver for Waste Management for 30 years. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Meadows and was an avid Steelers fan. Surviving are his companion, Emily Harris; three sons, Michael Richards, Sr., Eric Richards and Robert Richards; two daughters, Jodi Miller and Carla Richards, all of Washington; two brothers, Clyde Yater Jr. of Washington and Charles Yater of California, PA; two sisters, Betty McClain and Sandy Brown, both of Washington; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a companion, Barbara Ann Casterline Richards; a son, Keith Richards; a brother, Jack Yater; and a sister, Laura Yater. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16th.
