Robert Leroy Yater, 68, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in his residence. He had been in declining health.
He was born December 12, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Clyde Yater, Sr. and Laura Zediker Yater.
Mr. Yater attended Trinity High School and worked as a driver for Waste Management for 30 years.
He enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Meadows and was an avid Steelers fan.
Surviving are his companion, Emily Harris; three sons, Michael Richards, Sr., Eric Richards and Robert Richards; two daughters, Jodi Miller and Carla Richards, all of Washington; two brothers, Clyde Yater Jr. of Washington and Charles Yater of California, PA; two sisters, Betty McClain and Sandy Brown, both of Washington; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a companion, Barbara Ann Casterline Richards; a son, Keith Richards; a brother, Jack Yater; and a sister, Laura Yater.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16th.
