Mary Cecelia Moritz, 100, of Washington, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born February 17, 1913, in Newark, Del., a daughter of Michael Gessner and Catherine Barbara Seiss Gessner.
Mrs. Moritz was a member of St. Hilary Church and Washington Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crafts and painting.
Just three weeks ago, she went on a cruise to the Southern Caribbean.
On August 29, 1932, she married Edward Charles Moritz, who died March 27, 1984.
Surviving are two daughters, Rosemary (George) Clayton of Waynesburg and Arline (Raymond) Chiz of Bethel Park; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Michael J. Gessner, and four sisters, Christine Stevens, Genevieve Hubert, Catherine Hubert and Rose Pensenstadler
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, in St. Hilary Church, Washington. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
