Shirley Ann Swartzfeger

Shirley Ann Swartzfeger, 89, of Butler, formerly of Washington, died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Butler Memorial Hospital. She was born December 8, 1923, in Houston, Texas, a daughter of William A. McKinney and Elise C. McFarland McKinney. Mrs. Swartzfeger graduated from high School in Louisiana and worked as a sales clerk at Sears. She was Presbyterian by faith and enjoyed reading. On May 20, 1944, she married Donald E. Swartzfeger, who died April 11, 1994. Surviving are a son, Donald E. Swartzfeger II and wife Connie, of Butler; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a niece, Beverly Swartzfeger, and her daughters, Donnann Swartzfeger and Tracey (Ric) Mar. Deceased are a daughter, Sharman Sue Swartzfeger, and a son, Harry Swartzfeger. Friends will be received 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, Friday, April 5th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a local humane society.
