Charles William Schmalz

Charles William Schmalz, 71, of Washington, died Friday, April 5, 2013, in the Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born February 1, 1942, in Canonsburg, a son of Charles F. Schmalz of Houston and the late Martha Frazier Schmalz. Mr. Schmalz was a graduate of Chartiers High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. From 1961 until 1964, he served in the United States Army. A delivery driver, he was very handy mechanically and enjoyed repairing radios and bicycles. Mr. Schmalz was a member of First Christian Church in Canonsburg. Surviving, in addition to his father, are two brothers, David and Richard Schmalz, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Donald Schmalz. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services.
