Delilace “Lully” Chivers, 92, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, following a brief illness. She was born November 15, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Clark E. Day and Hazel Marie Johns Day. Mrs. Chivers was a homemaker and a Bell Telephone operator when she was young. She volunteered at Washington Hospital for many years, enjoyed playing bridge and liked to cook and bake. Mrs. Chivers graduated from Washington High School in 1939 and was a member of First Christian Church. She married Glenn Roy Chivers Jr., who died October 2, 1987. Surviving are a son, David Chivers of Washington; a daughter, Cheryl Boyer of Quitman, Ga.; four grandchildren, Lelia Long, Justin Chivers, Joel (Shonda) Miller and Heather (Scotty) Renfroe; and eight great-grandchildren, Cole, Lexie and Joshua Miller, Lauren and Ryan Renfroe, Claudia Rose and Gretchen Long, and Sydney B. Chivers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, April 20, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Health Center, Physical Therapy Department.
