Ludwig Charles Krizay, 91, of Washington, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, following a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1921, in Washington, a son of Stephen and Theresa Gruden Krizay.
Mr. Krizay was a graduate of Penn Commercial and worked as a union carpenter with United Brotherhood of Carpenters for over 30 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Krizay was a member of Avery United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
On July 31, 1950, he married Laura Gerkin, who died in 1992.
Surviving are a son, Michael A. (Joan) Krizay of Washington; a daughter, Theresa Serniak of McDonald; a brother, Edward Krizay of McLean, Virginia; and one grandson, Michael A. (Andrea) Krizay.
Deceased are a sister, Stella Turk, and a brother, John Krizay.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 2nd, in the mausoleum at the Washington Cemetery, with Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
