Wilbur Arthur Moore, 93, of Hickory, died Thursday, May 2, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington.
He was born March 28, 1920, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Wilbur Lee Moore and Virginia Pettit Moore.
Mr. Moore was a Corporal in the Army during World War II, where he received a World War II Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal.
He was a self-employed farmer and a general contractor.
Mr. Moore was a member of Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church.
On September 17, 1949, he married V. Jean Simpson, who died March 22, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Ronald (Michele) Moore of Hickory; four daughters, Carol (Jack) Hensel of Washington, Joyce Moore of Hickory, Linda Moore of Bentleyville and Barbara (Mike) Salvini of Washington; two brothers, Samuel Moore of McDonald and Harry Moore of Clarington, OH; three sisters, Alma Schwab of Burgettstown, Martha Jane Briggs of West Alexander, Mary Wilson of Taylorstown; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles and William Moore; a sister, Nora Phillips.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes LTD., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA, where services will be held Saturday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Judy Mayer officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Buffalo Cemetery.
