Sarah Jane Allen

Sarah Jane Allen, 83, of Canonsburg, died May 7, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital. She was born September 29, 1929, in Roaring Spring, a daughter of George Roy Fletcher and Mary Catherine Stewart Fletcher. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker. On August 12, 1957, she married Kenneth Raymond McKay, who died in 1958. On October 18, 1959, she married Howard Wrenwick Allen, Sr., who died January 27, 1978. Surviving are four sons, Charles (Ann) Hale of eastern Pennsylvania, John (Brenda) McKay of Arizona, Howard Allen, Jr. of Washington, and William Joseph (Mizen) Allen of Vietnam; five daughters, Sarah Marie Hale Clark of eastern Pennsylvania, Thelma Jane Allen of Washington, Mary E. (Howard III) Moss of Strabane, Casey Lee Allen of Virginia Beach, and Ruth Irene Allen of Canonsburg; three stepdaughters, Betty Paige, Mildred Boldy and Sarah L. Mull; a brother, Michael Warren Hale; three sisters, Mary Catherine Snowberger, Edna Christine Louks, and Carol Ann; grandchildren, Archie D. Price, Naomi Jo Price, Joshua A. Price, Brandon Scott Moss, Amanda R. Moss, Julia A. (Norman) Bates, Clayton T. Toth, Jesse D. O’Dell, Maegan Paige O’Dell and James Hero Allen; and many great-grandchildren. Deceased are two stepdaughters, June Yater and Leona Mae Mull; a stepgrandson, Stephen Stinedurf; two brothers, Harry Hale, Jr. and Nathan Hale; and three sisters, Mae Stratton, Jean Moore and Ruth Martin. Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 15th, with Rev. Earl G. Parkinson officiating.
