Anna Florence Davis

Anna Florence Davis, 83, of Washington, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Donnell House. She was born September 6, 1929, in Manifold, a daughter of Walter Lee Lloyd and Louizah Leolin Roach Lloyd. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Trinity High School and worked at RCA and Grant’s Department Store. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, her dog, Buddy, and going to garage sales. Mrs. Davis had been a member of Washington Alliance Church. On October 31, 1948, she married Samuel A. Davis, who died January 23, 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Gayle (Frank) Emerick; nine grandchildren, April Smith, Deana Schmitt, James Davis, Samantha Dorham, Samuel Davis, Sandra Davis, Victoria Davis, Gary Neal and Melissa Minerd; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debra Marie Davis; a sister-in-law, Theadora Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Samuel A. Davis, who died March 24, 2013; a great-grandchild, Sahara Smith; and four brothers, William, Walter Franklin “Pinky,” John and Robert Elvers Lloyd. Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 21st. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
