Alexander “Larry” Leonard Dudzik, 88 of Washington, died Wednesday, May 22, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born November 9, 1924 in Canonsburg, the son of John Dudzik and Alice Bonczek Dudzik.
Mr. Dudzik served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate and received an American Theater Ribbon and a Victory Medal.
Larry graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his Masters Degree from California University. He was a Special Education Teacher for 15 years and was an usher at the Meadows Race Track for 30 years.
Mr. Dudzik was a member of the Meadowlands United Methodist, where he was a very active member, a lay speaker and member of the Dartball League. He sang with the Men’s Barbershop and was a member of the Washington Senior Citizens Center.
On September 4, 1948 he married Wanda Jedrzejczak who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Larry Alan (Roberta) Dudzik of Washington; two daughters, Darlene Horvath of McMurray and Chris (Rick) Schwartzmiller of Washington; a sister, Helen Ambrose of Canonsburg; eleven grandchildren, David, McKenzie, Alex, Joel, Jessica, Erin, Ian, Amy, Tracey, R.J. and Madison; four great grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Kathi Dudzik Ramsey; two brothers Lou and Sylvester; four sisters, Violet, Tessie, Mary and Laura.
