Mary Joanne Williams, 74 of Washington, died June 7, 2012 after a short battle with recurrent breast cancer.
She was born November 26, 1938, in Washington, the daughter of John McDowell and Myrtle Neal McDowell, who are deceased.
She was employed a Canonsburg Hospital as secretary in the radiology department for over 30 years. She later became a home healthcare aid to various elderly individuals.
Mary was a very active member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, where she served as elder and many other committees. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed playing cards on Friday’s with her friends and loved spending time with children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathleen (Ken) Seybert of Washington and Gretchen (Ron) McNary of Peters Township; a brother John H. (Barra) McDowell III of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Amanda (Tim) Kruger, Keil (Felicia) Seybert, Soren, Sloane and Freya McNary.
Friends will be received Monday, June 10th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 11th from 1 to 3 p.m. the time of service with Rev. Robert Miller officiating in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery at a later date.
