Eugene Joseph Rafter, 65 of Washington, died Friday, July 5, 2013 in the Donnell House following a nine-month battle with cancer.
He was born June 26, 1948 in Butler the son of John Rafter and Eleanor Bowser Rafter Jeffers who are deceased.
He was employed as a machinist at DACO Machine and Greenetech Machine for almost 30 years. He was a member of St Hilary Roman Catholic Church.
Eugene was a member of the Canonsburg Sportsman Association. He enjoyed guns, shooting and music.
On December 16, 1967 he married Sharon Burk who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Eugene (Denise) Rafter II of Claysville; two daughters, Stacie Lee (Brian) Noble of Burgettstown, Karina King of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Jesse Dague, Shannen Dague, Jacob Noble and Amanda King; a great grandchild, Zeno Eugene Mack Abbas.
Deceased is a brother, John Curtis Rafter.
Friends will be received Saturday, July 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to Leukemia Foundation, River Walk Corporate Centre, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
