Helen E. Sibert

Helen E. Cincinnati Sibert, 88, formerly of Washington, PA passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Brevillier Village in Erie, PA. She was born on April 12, 1925 in Washington, PA a daughter of the late Henry J. and Rose M. Tocci Cincinnati. Helen was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. She retired in 1994 from Jessop Steel/Allegheny Ludlum with 32 years of service as a secretary to the traffic manager, executive secretary to the director of metallurgy and executive secretary to the sales manager. She also was an avid bridge player, attaining the rank of Life Master in 1987 at the age of 62. The camaraderie and competition of competitive bridge gave her great pleasure. Helen also enjoyed flowers, cooking and spice jellybeans. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Sibert, on May 13, 1991. They were married for 49 years. Helen was also preceded in death by two brothers, James, 1923 and Frank Cincinnati, 1949 and one sister, Mary Reihner, 1991. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon O. Shaffer, and her husband Russell of North East, PA and their three children, Christopher, of North East, Stephen and his wife Lisa of Plano, TX and Leslie Shaffer Chamberlain and her husband Nathan of Chicago, Illinois. Helen is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Harrison, Parker, and Karsen of Wayne, PA and Ethan, Noah, and Mateo of Plano, Texas. A sister, Rose M. Maleski and one brother Henry J. Cincinnati, still live in Washington, PA. The family wished to thank the nurses and staff of Ball Pavilion and Brevillier Village for their dedicated care and service. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. Loved ones and friends are asked to remember Helen in private thoughts and prayers. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Park United Methodist Church, 30 N. Lake St., North East, PA 16428 or to a charity of choice.
