Arnold Lee McComis, 96, of Amwell Township, died July 18, 2013, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
He was born April 11, 1917, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of John McComis and Artie Francis Hale McComis.
A World War II Army veteran, Mr. McComis worked as a concrete finisher for 20 years. He loved animals and was owner/operator of Arnold’s Dog Grooming and Whispering Pines Kennel.
On June 17, 1939, he married Florence Oelgoetz, who died September 15, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Arnold McComis, Jr., of Holiday, Florida; two daughters, Arlene Konopka of Lone Pine and Charlene Bentley of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Hughey, Bruce, Luther, and James; and three sisters, Suzy, Ruth and Willie Ann.
Friends will be received 9:30 a.m. till 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday, July 22, 2013, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
