James Jackson King, 76, of Washington, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Washington Hospital.
He was born September 20, 1936 in Washington, the son of William E. King and Mary Wolfe King who are deceased.
Mr. King was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and was on many church committees. He was an avid woodworker and bowler.
On January 22, 1959 he married Nancy Keenan who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey A. (Cathy) King of Loretto, PA; a daughter, Stacy (Patrick) Rush of Avella; a brother Harold E. King of Washington; two sisters, Shirley A. Gradert and Linda L. Crouser both of Washington; four grandchildren, Shannon and Daniel King, Michael and Emily Rush.
Friends will be received Friday, August 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, Additional visitation will be held Saturday, August 3rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church, 101 College St, Washington, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Dunlap officiating. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to First Baptist Church.
