William "Bill" Clark

William Hartman “Bill” Clark, 82, of Washington, died Monday, July 29, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital. He had been in declining health for six months. He was born October 13, 1930, in Washington, a son of Scott W. and Mary Hartman Clark. Mr. Clark was a 1948 graduate of Trinity High School. He attended Bucknell, graduated from Penn State University, and earned his masters degree from Pitt. From 1955 until 1989, he was a teacher and administrator at Trinity High School. Mr. Clark was co-founder of GG&C Bus Company, Inc., and served as the company’s president until the time of his retirement in 2004. An active beef farmer, he owned Clark Farms of Washington. He greatly loved his work. Mr. Clark was a lifelong member of Faith United Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Elks. In addition, he was a 32-degree Mason and a member of Sunset Lodge 623 and the Syria Shrine. A Korean War Era veteran, Mr. Clark served in the Army from August 13, 1953, until his honorable discharge on June 6, 1955. On December 27, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Eakin, who survives. They were married for 59 ½ years. Also surviving are a son, William J. (Merri) Clark of California, Maryland; a daughter Linda L. Clark of Washington; one brother, James (Ruth) Clark of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren, Davi Lynn Clark and Billy Clark. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 1st.
