Rita Ann Yancosek, 75, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 10, 2013, in UPMC – Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born December 20, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of Peter Folio and Julia Cobucci Folio.
A 1955 graduate of Washington High School, Mrs. Yancosek worked at I.G.C.O. as an emergency services dispatcher for 18 years and at Bell Telephone as an operator for 12 years. She was a volunteer election worker for 5 years in Tylerdale’s Seventh Ward.
Mrs. Yancosek was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
On January 30, 1960, she married John Regis “Pete” Yancosek, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John P. (Bridget) Yancosek of Washington; a daughter, Julie A. (Thomas) Melone of St. Charles, Missouri; a sister, Rose Marie (Ralph) Sargent of Washington; five grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew and John Melone, and Joshua and Jacob Yancosek; and a close family friend, Bill (Paula) Sibert of Limestone, Tennessee.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at Noon, Tuesday, August 13th, with Father Lou Pascazi officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
