Laura Bell “Nanny” Anderson, 87, of Washington, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Donnell House.
She was born July 13, 1926, in Brave, a daughter of Harry Owen Roupe and Bessie Estelle Wright Roupe.
Mrs. Anderson worked as a housekeeper. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, flowers and hummingbirds.
Her husband, Delmar Leroy Anderson, is deceased.
Surviving are a son, David “Sparky” Anderson and fiancée, Darlene McHugh of Washington; a daughter, Kathy Ann Hampton and husband David of Claysville; a sister, Martha Ellen Gump of New Cumbertown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tony (Rachel) Coffield, Amber (Darrell) Talpas, James Sickles IV, and Jason Taylor; five great grandchildren, Brandon and Isabella Coffield and Izaiah, Brystynn and Diesel Talpas; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is her great friend and caregiver, Loretta Holland.
Deceased are a sister, Louise Miller; and three brothers, James, John and Paul Roupe.
A gathering of friends will be held from on Saturday, August 24th, from Noon to 4 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Josh Brown officiating.
