Louise Thomas “Tootie” Ritchie, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in her residence.
She was born April 29, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of the late James S. Thomas and Roberta Conkle Thomas Closser.
Mrs. Ritchie was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. She sold Stanley Products for many years, and during World War II served as an Air Raid Warden.
Mrs. Ritchie was a member of the Church of the Covenant and Democratic Women of Washington County.
On August 25, 1943, she married Harry L. Ritchie, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald L. (Vickie) Ritchie of Prosperity; a daughter, Harriett (Dale) Smith of Fort Mill, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Bryant Ritchie, Brandon Ritchie, Lori Balach, Christi (Van) Taylor and Kimberly (Mark) Hannan; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased is her stepfather, Albert C. Closser.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 23rd, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Washington Health System, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; or to a veterans’ organization of the donor’s choice.
