William Thomas Conley, Jr.

William Thomas Conley, Jr., 60, of Washington, died on Thursday, August 29, 2013, in UPMC, Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland. He was born on November 30, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a son of William Thomas Conley, Sr., of Pittsburgh, and the late Ann Owens Conley. Mr. Conley was a graduate of Bethel Park High School, and had worked in construction, with Laborers’ Local #373. He enjoyed woodworking. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Vietnam War, from June 16, 1970, until his honorable discharge, on May 29, 1974. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, with Device, and the Navy Unit Commendation Medal. On November 18, 2011, he married Patricia Pollock, who survives. Also surviving are 2 brothers, John (Michelle) Conley, of Peters Township, and Michael Conley, of Erie; and a sister, Sharon (Rich) Burdelsky, of Bethel Park. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, with Pastor Jeff Lukacs officiating. Military Rites will be accorded graveside, by the Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175 of the American Legion.
