David F. “Zorro” Clutter, 61, of Washington, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, in Donnell House, following a courageous, 11-year battle with cancer.
He was born December 6, 1951, in New Eagle, a son of the late James H. and Dorothy E. Douglas Clutter.
Mr. Clutter was a 1970 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, where he excelled and was an all-star player in both baseball and basketball.
He served as a military policeman in the Army from December 22, 1970, until his honorable discharge on September 21, 1972.
He worked as a delivery driver for Frank’s Auto Supermarket.
Mr. Clutter was active in the Washington Softball League and was the team captain for the Mayrz Inn Pool Team in the Washington County Pool League. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Boston Celtics, the Steelers, the Pirates and Duke Basketball. In addition to sports, he loved fishing.
He had a great love for family and was especially close to his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Clutter was Catholic.
Surviving are eight siblings, Paula (Alex) Jester of West Alexander, Jim (Barbara) Clutter and Linda ((Bob) Sten, both of Roswell, Georgia, Barbara (Bob) Zanolli of Washington, Cindy Brezinski of Washington, Pat (Heather) Clutter of East Liverpool, Ohio, Ed Clutter of Woodstock, Georgia and Mary (John) Felak of North Augusta, South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Beth Swart, Melany Agnew, Amanda Jester, Jimmy Clutter, Becky Clutter, Rob Sten, Greg Sten, Katy Shoukry, Zach Zanolli, Stefanie King, Stephen Brezinski, Matthew Ricupero, Ashley Beard, Natalie Clutter, Amy Clutter, Jonathan Clutter, Julia Clutter, Jillian Clutter, Ella Clutter, Michael Felak, Michelle Gruening, Andrew Felak and Nicole Felak; great-nieces and great-nephews, Easton Swart, Alesha Stankus, A.J. Agnew, Christian Agnew, Hannah Agnew, Joshua Agnew, Randi Lynn Agnew, Caroline Sten, Juliette Shoukry, James Shoukry, Benjamin Zanolli, Jacob Zanolli, Dillon King, Jace Day and Austin Beard.
Deceased is a nephew, Patrick Clutter.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 3rd, in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
