John David Pacyna, 62, of Hickory, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in the Washington Hospital. He had been in declining health.
He was born on June 15, 1951, in Washington, a son of Louise Gross (Charles) Miller, of Hickory, and the late Henry Francis Pacyna.
He was Catholic by faith, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was an employee of Bull International, where he had worked as a tractor and farm equipment mechanic for 38 years.
Mr. Pacyna enjoyed NASCAR Racing and fishing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
On July 20, 1974, he married Sandra Jean Wilkerson, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his wife, mother and stepfather, are a daughter, Danielle (Clinton) Wallack, of Wellsburg, WV; a stepbrother, Thomas Edward (Dana) Miller, of Washington; and 3 grandchildren, Madison Roble and Shelby and Autumn Wallack.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are a son, Michael J. Pacyna; and 2 brothers, Henry F. Pacyna, Jr., and Dennis J. Pacyna.
Friends will be received on Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
