Virginia Romaine Ruetschi, 91, of Washington, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, in her residence.
She was born November 18, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of Dorsey E. and Ethel Mae Jones Strosnider.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ruetschi enjoyed cooking and crocheting, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She volunteered with the Red Cross and American Heart Association and was a Girl Scout Leader.
She was baptized in the Second Christian Church.
On May 23, 1940, she married Wilbur Ruetschi, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Wilbur Douglas (JoAnn) Ruetschi of Claysville; three daughters, Carol (George) Basara of Cokeburg, Betsy (Bill) Murner of South Franklin Township, and Sue (Chuck) Roup of Washington; a sister, Mary Yohe of Washington; and 10 grandchildren, Amy, Judy, Jill, Phillip, Sandy, Becky, Beth, Jenny, Carrie and Chuck; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Douglas Alexander; and two sisters, Doris Grusofski and Betty Murphy.
There will be no public visitation. Private entombment will be in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Washington Health System, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
