Ralph Waychoff

Ralph Arthur Waychoff, 82, of Washington, died on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in the Donnell House. He was born on December 2, 1930, in Buffalo Village, a son of the late Lindsay and Thelma Davidson Waychoff. A 1949 graduate of Trinity High School, he was Presbyterian by faith. Mr. Waychoff worked for 42 ½ years as a furnace helper for Jessop Steel Corporation. A fan of country music, he enjoyed traveling, and spent his winters in Florida for many years. He was a member of L.O.O.M. 22 and a social member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. On April 17, 1949, he married Jean Marie Berg, who died on January 20, 1997. Surviving are two sons, Ralph L. (Carol) Waychoff of Washington and Richard A. (Pamela) Waychoff of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Donna Jean Waychoff of Washington; two sisters, Ruth (Jerry) Stein and Betty (Bob) Hodgens, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Tammi (Nick) Dubina, Tina (Alvin) Rogers, David Waychoff, Marissa (Shaun) Roberts and Michael Waychoff; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary Pratt. Deceased is a brother, Harold Waychoff. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, September 22nd, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of Washington Health System, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, or to Upper Buffalo Cemetery Association, c/o Jerry Stein, 74 Smiley Rd., Washington, PA 15301.
