Oda Moninger Horn, 89, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born November 9, 1923, in Amwell Township, a daughter of Arnet Moninger and Helen G. Webb Patterson Moninger.
Mrs. Horn graduated from Washington High School in 1942, and worked for Bell Telephone for 42 years.
She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Bell Telephone 10 Year Club and Bell Telephone Pioneers of America.
An avid bowler for more than 60 years, Mrs. Horn enjoyed bowling on Tuesday nights and Thursday mornings. She also enjoyed computers, solving crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing, as well as shopping with her daughter, Nadine, and niece, Linda Vivian.
On September 2, 1949, she married Harold Herbert Horn, who died February 8, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Ronald D. (Bobbi) Horn; a daughter, Nadine R. Hammond; a brother, John Moninger, all of Washington; and four grandchildren, Jason M. Horn, Brenan D. Horn, Dillon C. Hammond and McKenna R. Hammond.
Deceased are her first husband, Harry E. Powell, who was killed in action in World War II; and two sisters, Lois Norgarr and Mildred Bently.
Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 28th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
