James Edward Ellis, Jr., 61, of Washington, died on Thursday, September 26, 2013, in UPMC, Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland.
He was born on December 5, 1951, in Washington, a son, of the late James Edward Ellis, Sr., and Susan Harton Ellis.
A graduate of Trinity High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was Episcopalian, by faith.
Mr. Ellis worked for 15 years as an Iron Worker at Dellovade, and had also worked as a miner for Consol.
He enjoyed reading the bible, Westerns, singing, dancing, cooking and golfing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Dianna “Dee Dee” Garner; 2 sons, Jason Ellis, of Bentleyville; and James (Jacqueline) Ellis, III, of Ocala, FL; 4 daughters, Jodi Ellis, Kimberly (Jerrick Caldwell) Ellis, and Christie Ellis (Eric) Kelley, all of Washington; Racheal Ellis (Nicholas) Martinez, of Detroit, MI; a brother, Keith Ellis, of Washington; a sister, Evelyn Ellis, of Washington; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Deceased, is a grandchild, Sauldazia Wells.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in the Pulaski Club, 1180 Summerlea Ave., Washington.
