Richard W. Wenta, 77, of Houston, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center. He was born November 26, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of Richard W. and Augusta Fauth Wenta. Mr. Wenta was a Korean-Era veteran of the Army, serving from October 1, 1954, until his honorable discharge on September 5, 1957, with a rank of Specialist, third class. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. For 25 years he worked as a food broker for McClay Foods. Mr. Wenta was a member of Living Stone Community Church and enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, and dogs. Surviving is his wife, Patricia Kopp Waugh Wenta, whom he married March 9, 2002. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Wenta of Carver, Minnesota and James Wenta of Munhall; a daughter, Susan Orsino of Upper St. Clair; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 till 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3rd, with Rev. Paul Harrington officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Ste E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
