On October 1, 2013, Jacqueline, beloved wife, mother and grandmother answered God’s loving call to heaven as her eternal resting place.
“Jackie” as she preferred to be called was born to the late Esther and Charles Sim on January 19, 1932 in Washington. A 1950 graduate of Washington High School, she worked for years at the Central Drugstore and the upscale boutique Charles Gessner dress shop before discovering her true passion as a homemaker. After four years of courting, on August 18, 1951 by the Rev. Benjamin Mazewski, Jackie married the love of her life and soul mate Joseph P. Jarosz, with whom together she shared 62 wonderful years of happiness.
Jackie was a member of the Holy Trinity National Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member of the Ladies Adoration Society, serving as Secretary a few years as well. In her spare time she enjoyed hosting and catering large parties, sewing and working at church events. An award-winning baker, her specialty was the exquisite cookies enjoyed by all.
Her family was her life. Jackie leaves behind her beloved husband Joe, daughter and son-in-law John & Deborah Brower, granddaughter Alyson and loving puppies Ginger and Spencer. She is also survived by her sister Mary Bell, wife of Donald Nixon, several nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors Ron & Linda Mavilla. Preceding her in death are brothers Charles & Richard Sim and good friend and aunt Betty Ryan.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, October 4th at William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. On Saturday, October 5th at 9:30 am a special mass to be held at the Holy Trinity National Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Swoger officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
Donations and special thanks may be made to Amedisys Hospice Services, 275 Meadowlands Blvd , Washington, PA 15301 for such amazing care and comfort.
