Madelyn Folkens

Madelyn Risbin Folkens, 92, of Washington, died October 12, 2013, in the Washington Hospital. She was born February 14, 1921, in Marianna, a daughter of Thomas J. and Sara Ann Quinn Risbin. Mrs. Folkens was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1939. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Church. On October 18, 1941, she was married in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church to Albert Folkens by the late Father Martin J. Hughes. Mr. Folkens passed away on January 17, 2011. Surviving are a son, James Folkens; a daughter, Sara Ann Godley; a grandson, James Godley (Leslie); twin great-grandsons, William and Timothy Godley; and a sister, Rita Renner of Washington. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are six brothers, Michael L. Thomas, James, John, Joseph and Robert Risbin; and five sisters, Veronica Crawford, Margaret Serenta, Elizabeth Holub, Mary Beatrice Adams and Wilma Jean Risbin. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 16th in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
