William Michael “Mike” Summers, 59 of Claysville, went home Monday, October 21, 2013, after losing a courageous fight in battling cancer.
He was born in Fairmont, WV on August 13, 1954, the son of the late Albert Jr. and Maxine Satterfield Summers.
His work history had him traveling the United States, working underseas, building bridges, drilling and carpentry. He worked as a heavy equipment operator out of Local 66, most recently with Pete Caruso and Sons.
Known to many as “Big Daddy”, Mike enjoyed visiting flea markets working on his van, and could always be found with a Mountain Dew in hand. He played guitar, couldn’t wait for snow to fall for sledding and could do anything he put his mind to. But most of all he truly enjoyed life and helping others.
Mike was fiercely loved by his family; his best friend of 24 years, Vickie Tau of Claysville; a son, Jason (Lacey) Tau of Claysville, a daughter, Amber (Mike) Falosk of Prosperity
He was a devoted Pappy; never missing an event, and each had Pappy wrapped around their finger. His five grandchildren, Rocco and Troy Falosk, Aidan, Peyton and Harley Jo Tau were his world.
He leaves behind a large family who loved him abundantly, including six siblings, Margaret Michrina of Canonsburg, Wayne (Antoinette) Summers of McKees Rocks, Linda Daugherty of Canonsburg, Johnny (Sandi) Summers of Washington, Elsie Summers of Washington and Ray (Jamie) Summers of Muse.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held Thursday, October 24th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Meade Lacock officiating. Burial will follow at Claysville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Claysville Christian Church, 135 Church St, Claysville, PA 15323.
