Irene P. Anderson, 93, of Washington, died November 24, 2013, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Daniel Passo and Margaret Balog Passo.
Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Washington High School. A homemaker, she worked at Hazel Atlas during World War II and, later, for a time, as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
She loved solving crossword puzzles and refinishing furniture.
On October 8, 1941, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she married Walter P. Anderson, who died July 19, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, John Daniel Anderson of Yorktown and Jamie W. Anderson (Barbara L.) of Washington; a daughter, Judith Anderson Yusko of Claysville; four grandchildren, Julie A. Yusko, Jay A. Yusko, Jennifer Anderson and Joanna Anderson.
Deceased are two brothers, Jake Passo and Daniel Passo; three sisters, Verna Dubelle, Anne Schlagel and Mary Weltmer; and a son-in-law, James Yusko.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 30th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
The family is not accepting flowers and suggests memorial donations to a Mrs. Anderson’s favorite charity, The Washington City Mission, 84 West Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
