Elburn “Hoobie” Henderson, 89, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at home.
He was born June 14, 1924 in Daybrook, WV, the son of James Dewey Henderson and Lovie Margaret Moore.
Mr. Henderson was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, Edwin Scott Linton Post #175, Taylorstown American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #927.
Hoobie was employed at Metro Glass and Ball Glass as a hot end supervisor. He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting and was a lifetime member of the Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club.
On August 15, 1964 he married Mabel Levers who died January 15, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald K. (Frances) Henderson of Claysville, William J. (Katy) Henderson of Cleveland, OH; two step sons, George Roger (Carol) Levers of Palm Meadows, FL, Harry (Elaine) Levers of Fortville, IN; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and will be sadly missed by his niece Patty Wise.
Deceased are two sons, Jack and Bob Henderson; a stepson, Walt Levers; a brother, Titus Q. Henderson; a sister, Nellie Ruth Jackson.
A graveside service will held on Saturday, December 7th at 2:30 p.m. at North Buffalo Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Military honors will be accorded by Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 of the American Legion.
