Robert J. Weimer, 58, of West Hanover Township, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 3, 2013, at his family’s farm in Washington, Pa.
Born on August 1,1955, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Dr. Joseph Weimer and Lillian Weimer (Mokry), of Washington.
He is survived by the love of his life for 33 years, Barbara Weimer (Zug); his beloved son, Geoffrey; adoring daughter, Lauren; his sister Karen Weimer and husband Louis LaLama of Coraopolis, Pa; and his brother Paul Weimer of Washington Pa.
Robert graduated from The Village Academy Class of 1973 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He attended Potomac Horsemen’s Academy and rode hunters and jumpers with Bloodstock Enterprises in New Hope, Pennsylvania. He also trained racehorses at the former Keystone Racetrack in Philadelphia and Penn National Racetrack, where he also worked as the paddock judge for 20 years and was known as RIDERS UP BOB! Robert loved to play Frisbee with his Doberman, Kimba, was a BIG Steelers fan, and loved to grill, voted THE BEST COOKER by his children.
