Rebecca Elizabeth Bunner

Rebecca Elizabeth Bush Bunner, of Washington died, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Donnell House after a lengthy illness. She was born April 21, 1949 in Washington the daughter of John L. Bush and Nellie Gontas Bush, who are deceased. Mrs. Bunner was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1967 and graduated from Robert Morris College in 1970. She was employed at the Washington Hospital School of Nursing for 43 years, retiring in October 2013. She was a member of the Washington Church of Christ for over 20 years, where she had once been a Sunday School Teacher. Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and looked forward to the birth of another in May. She also enjoyed art shows and had an appreciation of all the arts. On May 23, 1980, she married Bernard F. Bunner who passed away on November 15, 2007. Surviving are a son, Bernard John “BJ” (Christina) Bunner of Washington; three step children, Michael B. Bunner, Scott E. Bunner and Lisa L. Rogers; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Ryan and John Robert Bunner; eight step grandchildren, Ann (Adam) Brown, John (Erin) Bunner, Nicole, Nick and Gregory Bunner, Michael, Matthew and Timothy Rogers. Deceased is a brother, John L. Bush Sr. and a stepson, Christopher L. Bunner. Friends will be received Sunday, January 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. Burial is private.
