William Henry Noble

William Henry Noble, 77, of Washington, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, in his residence, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 26, 1936, in Buffalo Township, a son of Gladys Noble Miller of Washington. Mr. Noble was a 1955 graduate of Claysville High School and served in the Air Force Reserves. For 14 years he worked as a machinist at Crile Machine, then worked as a mould maker at Penn Mould for 14 years, retiring on April 24, 1998. Mr. Noble enjoyed staying in touch with and gathering with former classmates. He also enjoyed reading and attending his great-nephew Ryan’s baseball games. Mr. Noble was a member of Avery United Methodist Church. He will be missed by his fuzzy friend, his cat Benny, who stayed by Mr. Noble’s side day and night throughout his illness. On April 15, 1972, in Claysville United Methodist Church, he married Barbara Jo Craig, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ronald Noble of Arizona; a sister, Janet Mankey of Washington; a stepsister, Viola Krollar of Lima, Ohio; and two grandsons. Deceased are a son, William Noble, Jr.; stepfather, George Miller; and a stepbrother, Lloyd Miller. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 15th with Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, or to Amedisys Hospice, 275 Meadowlands Drive, Washington, PA 15301.
