Marilyn Vaughn Simms

Marilyn Vaughn Simms, 77 of Washington, died January 13, 2014 in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was born May 12, 1936, the daughter of Harry Newland and Ruby Mankey Newland. Mrs. Simms was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts and quilting. On August 18, 1959 she married Edward C. “Sonny” Simms Jr. who died October 3, 2006. Surviving are two sons, Vincent L. Simms of Castle Shannon and Jason D. Simms of Washington. Friends will be received Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Friday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. Burial is private.
