Lena DiCeglio Mazzie, more commonly known as “Aunt Lee”, or “Manny”, 93, of Washington, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, January 16, 2014, following a 15-month illness. She was born on June 6, 1920, in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late Gennaro and Rose DiCeglio. Lee was retired from Lang’s, where she was their #1 salesperson for several years. Family and church were her life. She was a charter member of Christian Church of North America, and loved the Lord with all her heart. Most of her life was spent going to church and church functions, visiting the sick, serving dinner to family and friends, and spending time with them. “Aunt Lee” was known as the church hugger, and for her generosity and compassion for others. Her favorite hobby was shopping, and buying gifts for her grandchildren, and for others. On June 6, 1954, she married Samuel Mazzie, who died on November 25, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Jacki Mazzie (Rob) Berk, a son, Gary Mazzie, both of Washington, 2 grandchildren, Codi Berk and Jesse Berk, both of Washington; two brothers, Joe (Connie) DiCeglio, of Akron, OH, and Orlando (Dolores) DiCeglio, of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are 2 brothers, Frank DiCeglio and Michael DiCeglio, and a sister, Mimi DiCeglio Damato. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 12:30 to 2:30 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, with her son-in-law, Pastor Rob Berk officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Hospice, 1195 Jacks Run Road, North Versailles, PA 15137.
