Mary Elizabeth LaVelle Slobodgen, 82 of Canonsburg, formerly of
Washington, died Tuesday, January 21 in Consulate Health Care
following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 14, 1931 in Washington, the daughter of the late
Raymond M. LaVelle and Laura Marie Jones LaVelle.
She was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School.
Mary was a homemaker and worked at Metro Glass in Washington for 18 years.
She was a loving and caring person, always helping family and friends
and will be remembered for all the time she spent helping others. Mary
liked to roller skate and enjoyed bowling.
She was married to Joseph Edward Slobogen who died January 4, 2005.
Surviving is a son Lawrence Joseph “Joe” LaVelle of Washington.
Deceased are a son, Michael Slobodgen; two brothers, Raymond W.
LaVelle, George Herbert LaVelle; a stepmother, Irma Romano LaVelle.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m.
