Ella Ann Leppert Paul, 95, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born May 14, 1918, in Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of Max and Selma Krebbs Leppert, who immigrated to Canada from Germany in the early 1900’s with four of their 10 children.
Mrs. Paul was a long-time member of the First Lutheran Church of Washington. Before her marriage, she was secretary to the director of nursing at the Washington Hospital. Mrs. Paul enjoyed her gardens, quilting, sewing, baking and especially being with her children and grandchildren.
On October 2, 1948, she married Sam G. Paul, who died in 2008. Their two children survive: George S. Paul and Jane Kislear, both of Washington.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Grant S. Paul of McDonald, Phallen Kislear (Joel) Ward of Monessen and Jordan Kislear (Toni McLaughlin) of Falls Church, Virginia; a great-grandson, Ethan Paul; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her brothers, Alfred Leppert, Erwin Leppert, Max Leppert, George Leppert, and Theodore Leppert; and sisters, Martha Brzinka, Elfreida Leppert, Adelhide “Heidle” Bader, and Edith Rutan; and son-in-law, Pete Kislear.
Friends will be received Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 25th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
