John Wilbur Patterson, Sr.

John Wilbur “Web” Patterson, Sr. 81, of Washington, formerly of Hopewell, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at home. He was born October 3, 1932 in Canonsburg, the son of the late John Thomas Patterson and Dorothy Winifred McDonald Patterson. Mr. Patterson worked at Jessop Steel in maintenance for 35 years. He was a member of Fourth United Presbyterian Church. John served in the U. S. Army from 1952 to 1955 and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Surviving are a son, John W. (Mary Ann) Patterson Jr. of Washington; a daughter Mary Louise Patterson of Washington; a sister, Maxine Arbes of Washington; two grandchildren, Nicole L. (Robert) Wilbert and Emmet M. Patterson; great grandchild, Foster Wilbert. Deceased is a brother, David O. Patterson. Friends will be received on Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Additional visitation will be held Monday, February 10th from 10 to 11 a.m. the time of service at Fourth United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Miller and Pastor Alice Curry officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Buffalo Cemetery.
