Ronaele Cekola, 70, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in her residence.
She was born April 1, 1943, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Leonard DeiCas and Eleanor Johns DeiCas.
Mrs. Cekola was a graduate of Charleroi High School and California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in education. She was a teacher at Franklin Elementary School in the Uniontown School District.
Mrs. Cekola was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Charleroi, Lagonda Homemakers and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. In addition, she was affiliated with the Girl Scouts for many years.
Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and reading.
On August 27, 1966, she married Wayne A. Cekola, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Wayne A. Cekola II of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and John L. Cekola of Monessen; a daughter, Amy B. Cekola-Miah (Fazlul) of Saudi Arabia; a brother, Bradley DeiCas (Darlene) of Charleroi; and four grandchildren, Anisa, Nura, Ryyan, and Hana Miah.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 21st, at 11 a.m., with Father James A. Ragan officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
